WuliWeb Terms

Wuli

(pronounced Wu-lee) The English transliteration of a Chinese prefix that, loosely translated, means 'My Order."  

 

WuliWeb

The name of the complete web-based application used to construct your personal hub of information. The left frame is for navigating through your folders and files. The right frame displays the chosen data. The top frame allows you to customize your WuliWeb account and perform its many functions, including e-mail, collaboration and storage.

 

WuliWare

The name of the software used for uploading scanned barcode information from your barcode-scanning device to your computer. WuliWare must be downloaded from within WuliWeb. The following options can be downloaded separately:

    1. WuliAgent
      This is the application that remembers your login information. It appears in the system tray by your clock after installing WuliWare.

    2. Application for Manual Entry Only
      This is the manual entry application that will remember the barcodes typed into your computer NOW for uploading at a later date.

    3. Application for Palm and Manual Entry
      This is the application that Palm users download to enable themselves to type a barcode number from a magazine article or advertisement into their Palm units. They can then upload the information to their WuliWeb hub by synching their Palm up to any connected computer.

    4. Application for Barcode Scanning Pen and Manual Entry
      This is the application that pen users download to enable themselves to scan a barcode from a magazine article or advertisement. They can then upload the information to their WuliWeb hub by synching their pen up to any connected computer.

WuliLink

The application toolkit used to save bookmarks or the actual contents (html source files and graphics) of web pages to your WuliWeb account. To install WuliLink on your browser, click on the Download button and drag the WuliLink to the toolbar of your browser.

 

Folders

Folders in WuliWeb are used to organize your articles, advertisements and personal files. In addition, folders can be private (in which you are the only one who can view its contents) or shared (in which the people you share it with are allowed to view its contents).

 

All Files

All Files (in the left navigation frame) will bring up a listing of all the files in your WuliWeb hub, regardless of the folder in which they reside.

 

Contact

A contact is someone you have listed in your address book.
