Document View

To get to the Document View screen, you clicked on an article, advertisement or personal file for viewing purposes.

 

In the window where your files are usually listed, you will now see the contents of the document. (Remember your browser must support the document type in order to view it. If not, you will be presented with a dialog box asking you whether you would like to save the file to disk or open it from the current location.) Depending on what type of document you are viewing, you will have different buttons along the top.

 

Article

If you are viewing an article that you or a colleague added using a barcode, you will see a Back to File List button, a More Info button, a Publisher's Web Site button, and this Help button. If any of the buttons are grayed out and not able to be clicked, the publisher did not provide the corresponding information.

 

Back to File List

This button will take you back to your list of files once you are done viewing the article.

 

More Info

This button links to more information on the article provided by the publisher.

 

Publisher's Web Site

This button will take you to the main web site of the publisher of this article.

 

Help

This button will take you to this dialog box.

 

Advertisement

If you are viewing an advertisement that you or a colleague added using a barcode, you will see a Back to File List button, a More Info button, a Buy button, an Advertiser's Web Site button, and this Help button. If any of the buttons are grayed out and not able to be clicked, the advertiser did not provide the corresponding information.

 

Back to File List

This button will take you back to your list of files once you are done viewing the advertisement.

 

More Info

This button links to more information on the product or service advertised and is provided by the advertiser.

 

Buy

This button links to an e-commerce site where you can purchase the product or service. This link is provided by the advertiser.

 

Advertiser's Web Site

This button will take you to the main web site of the advertiser of the product or service you are viewing.

 

Help

This button will take you to this dialog box.

 

Personal File

If you are viewing any file that you or a colleague added from your computer or while browsing the web, you will see a Back to File List button, a Download button, and this Help button. If you are viewing a stored web page, the Download button will not be there.

 

Back to File List

This button will take you back to your list of files once you are done viewing the document.

 

Download

By clicking this button, you will be able to download the current file to your computer. A dialog box from your browser will pop up asking whether you would like to save the file to disk or open it.

 

Help

This button will take you to this dialog box.
